Frequently Asked questions
Q:
What qualifications and certifications do you have as a nutrition coach?
A:
I have a Master Degree in Nutrition Science with my Bachelor in Integrative Medicine and my Associates in Psychology. I took additional courses in health and food relationship coaching, as well as sports medicine and nutrigenomics (nutrition and genetics).
I am certified as a Food Story Coach, and continue looking into additional trainings and certifications that I think will serve my clients well.
I continue researching health and nutrition topics and going to educational conferences to stay up to date on the science.
Q:
Can you explain your coaching philosophy and approach to nutrition?
A:
I approach coaching as an equal. I work together with my clients to find solutions that fit them specifically, integrating my education and experience with their knowledge of what does and doesn’t work for them.
I show up for each nutrition client with an open mind, ready to learn how their body, mind, and spirit create their health experience. It’s not my job to judge them or tell them what to do, but rather to meet them where they are at and find what small changes can make a real and lasting impact in their health. We strive to find what healthy looks like for each person, rather than trying to fit into a set social standard of health and body image.
Q:
What types of clients do you typically work with?
A:
I work with anyone who is ready to shift their health and nutrition understanding and create new patterns of behavior.
I have a special focus on the digestive system/ gut health and the connection between gut health, mental health, nutrition, & genetics.
Some medical conditions I have experience with include: Epstein Barr Virus, Lyme Disease, Autoimmune Conditions (Hashimoto’s Hypothyroidism, Celiacs), Mast Cell Activation Syndrome, Ménière's Disease, SIBO and IBS.
With the support of your medical team (preferred provider and specialists), I am confident in addressing your nutrition and food relationship needs. If there is something that needs greater specialist qualifications, I will gladly refer you to a more qualified nutritionist or specialist.
